AI begins tonight and dosage question
I was prescribed 1mg of generic arimidex. Will that dosage go up? Or is that related to it being pre-surgery due to possible delays from covid19? I have myself so worked up even though there is a great deal of reassuring info here. With some nice weather finally hitting us, I have been active(fast walking or tennis) the last several days. I am also more or less intermittent fasting(eating within several hours of the day as opposed to set times) I am not a 3 meal a day eater, nor will I ever be. I find for myself I need to manage what goes into my big mouth and perhaps this is the way to go. I had gained over 30lbs the last two years due to hip flexor trouble related to tennis. I'm a mess! But want desperately to face all of this in a positive and pro-active way. I don't love water(due to weak bladder frankly) but am drinking more than I ever have. No soda ever, and am fervently going to try and avoid wine. Ugh. Many thoughts swirling....
You are all so strong and supportive. I NEED you. Your responses keep my chin up during this very chaotic and uncertain time in history, as well as accepting my own BC road ahead. I realize that having had a relatively painless menopause(some cold flashes, and stiffness and seasonal allergy struggles now), I have been pretty lucky....
Thank you for taking time out of your day to respond and offer hopeful perspectives and suggestions. For newbies like me, they make a world of difference amidst our anxiety and uncertainty.
xx

1 mg is the normal dosage. It will not go up.
Good luck! Hope that you have few and only manageable side effects!

Thank you Beesie,
I am happy to hear it does not go up, up, up. I took it last night. 11pm ish. Was sleepy by midnight, but was with my 29year old son who is type 1 diabetic and struggling with depression, so I pushed til 2am and a movie. Then deep sleep til 3am, then up til 5am, then slept til 8:45am, then laid like zombie til 10am. Felt chilled in the a.m. then HOT and sweaty. As day progressed, I felt pretty normal. I am moving up time to 10pm tonight in hopes that I sleep. I do well on 5 or more, but not less.
I pray I settle into this....thank you for the support! It means so much xx

Hi!
If you find your AI interfering with your sleep, take it in the morning. I have long had problems with sleep, so I take mine right after breakfast with two of my other pills. Yes, here's hoping you don't have serious side effects!!! ((Hugs))

I take mine with my first meal of the day (lunch, because I'm intermittent fasting too!). Some have reported sleep problems, and others have reported mild tummy issues, so with food and earlier in the day might work better. I think I reported on another thread that I took it every other day for about three weeks--I've never had severe SEs.

Hugs to you!
1mg is quite standard, I take mine in the morning!
