I had a lumpectomy Monday. Two masses removed with one incision. Another incision for 2 lymph nodes removed. Recovery is going well so far. I got the final pathology report today. Clean margins..yay! One lymph node clear. The other one with small tumor cells, unable to be measured. My surgeon said that it isn't a true metastasis. She said the radiation oncologist may move the field over a bit to get more of the axila. Tumors were small. 1.2 cm and 0.8mm (smaller than MRI and mammogram indicated).

Referral has been made to radiation oncology. Oncotyping is still pending. They are hopeful I won't need chemo.

I'm glad to have this much behind me. My diagnosis is super recent so things have moved quickly. I seem to process it spurts. Not sure it has all sunk in yet.

I am MORE than ready to be done with bra. Plus I sleep on my stomach, which isn't possible right now so I am not really comfortable and sleeping well. But those are small prices to pay for being cancer free.
