Swollen breasts after hysterectomy

I had a total hysterectomy (leaving ovaries) 8 months ago. Three months ago, my breast have been super swollen and painful. I was sent for a dx mamo and u/s which came back "finding that requires additional workup for a complete evaluation." My GYN received the report and called me to see if I had made the appt with the breast specialist, which I have (3/16).

My question is how normal it is to have breast hurt constantly since having a hysterectomy. What should I expect from this appt with the specialist? Will they do a fine needle biopsy that day or do they usually have to schedule those?

Background - my mother and aunt are BC survivors. My mom is also positive for the MRE11A gene mutation, I tested negative.

Thank you,

update: I was sent for a MRI and Dr called saying it looks fine but there is an area they are not sure about. I have a core biopsy scheduled for tomorrow.

Is it possible to have something even though MRI looks fine but mamo and u/s had something inconclusive

MRI is the more sensitive exam

The MRI did not show the area that was shown in the mamo and u/s. It did show a new spot on the opposite breast, with instructions to wait depending on biopsy results on left breast. I went in for the biopsy and tech said the mass was 1mm smaller. Radiologists suggested I wait 3 months to u/s again and see if there are changes.

With my family history of bc, I am not happy waiting. My hysterectomy experience was horrible and ended up with a 10 in. vertical incision all because I kept listening to doctors to leave it alone. Can they really be sure it is nothing without a biopsy? Thank you for answering...

I do have a scheduled call with breast surgeon tomorrow to review plan.
