Thin Slices of Joy

Tell me the joy on these children’s faces doesn’t make you smile.

That was great! I also loved seeing Yo-Yo Ma and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers).
Need to listen to more music. This pandemic!
There are just over 9000 cases in Canada, and over 20% of those cases are on the island of Montreal (we test a lot). Almost half of the 9000 are in the Quebec province, but I wouldn't be surprised if a third are in Montreal and its surrounding areas. I just found out my MO has been in quarantine for almost 2 weeks. He's still making calls, so that's good news. My Friday appointment is canceled, but he will call with my CT results when it's available (whenever that is). My husband has a colleague who tested positive and is at home. Today there will be stress eating.
It's been over 2 weeks since anyone in my family used public transit. I actually felt relief when I realized that.
Breathe.

A little pandemic humor. Sorry it is so big.
-
I can’t see it, and I need to!

My 92 year old Dad claims would love to get coronavirus and be done with things on this planet. In case he does, that's good to know... And he added "Also, if I do, please let them test ANYTHING on me-- I don't care."
-
I actually have never thought I would live to be in my 90s, even before cancer. I'm a klutz with a family history of heart disease and murder. This coronavirus can get in line!

Not hoarding. This is my Christmas chocolate.
-
-
But it doesn’t pair well with my chocolate.
-
Serenity, profound video. You have remarkable self control if you are still in possession of Christmas chocolates!!!
-
-
Well, you don't know the stockpile I started with.
So, Van Gogh has reason to hate the pandemic.

Silly, but here goes.......
A frog goes into a bank and approaches the teller. He can see from her nameplate that her name is Patty Whack.
"Miss Whack, I'd like to get a $30,000 loan to take a holiday."
Patty looks at the frog in disbelief and asks his name. The frog says his name is Kermit Jagger, his dad is Mick Jagger, and that it's okay, he knows the bank manager.
Patty explains that he will need to secure the loan with some collateral.
The frog says, "Sure. I have this," and produces a tiny porcelain elephant, about an inch tall, bright pink and perfectly formed.
Very confused, Patty explains that she'll have to consult with the bank manager and disappears into a back office.
She finds the manager and says, "There's a frog called Kermit Jagger out there who claims to know you and wants to borrow $30,000, and he wants to use this as collateral." She holds up the tiny pink elephant. "I mean, what in the world is this?"
The bank manager looks back at her and says, "It's a knickknack, Patty Whack. Give the frog a loan. His old man's a Rolling Stone."
(You sang it, didn't you? Yeah, I know you did.)
Never take life too seriously.

One of the best professors I had was named Kermit.

Kayak, thanks for the laugh!!

My older daughter is making mocha cupcakes. I can smell them. Guess I don't have covid-19!

Serenity, Thank you!! So beautiful!

I loved making special birthday cakes for my kids when they were young. Never made one this gorgeous.

I am taking care of my Dad. He's 92. After a having a bit of a scary fever and not eating in several days, tonight he perked up, ate a little bit, called his sister and chatted w her, and held my hand as he fell asleep.
-
santabarabrian, I saw an interview w Chris Cuomo last night. He has had virus for 3 days and is running a fever high enough to hallucinate and has lost 13# in 3days. A friends 20 yr old granddaughter is running high fever and having problems breathing and parents, who are MD’s fear she is going to need to be on a ventilator. This is so scary. I know you must be terrified about your dad. I hope he recovers soon. ❤️
-
santabarbarian - I hope his fever doesn't return and he recovers quickly. I'm glad you have this time together especially now when there's so much physical distancing. Take care of yourself as well.
Yogatyme - I hope your friend's granddaughter takes a turn for the better. It is scary.
