Well. I did it. I'm actually in the waiting for my results category, but I've been waiting to get this biopsy since I think December. I have saline implants under the muscle. I have been soooooo worried that my Dr. might rupture the implant. I have very little actual breast tissue. My area needing the biopsy is my right breast at the 1-2 oclock position. So by my midline. I asked for a valium for the procedure and was prescribed that. I took 5 mg of valium 45 min before the procedure. The last time I had some was for a root canal 22 years ago. It didn't knock me out but seemed to help. Same this time. I laid down on the table and was given the local injections after being washed lightly with an antibacterial. I was expecting some burning or stinging or pain. All I felt was a slight prick and nothing else. She was really good with that. Next she tried to get some pieces out with a needle. I guess fna. But that wasn't the original plan. She was going to use the gauge needle with the click sound, but apparently they ran out. So not being satisfied with the amount of tissue she went to the vacuum assisted gauge needle. She was a little leary of using it b/c of the implant and mass being so close together. So she kept it to the top of the mass and sucked it up and rotated the cuff and shaved some off about 3 times. She did say it was a tough little mass. Hard to poke into. Now thank goodness I watched alot of youtube videos. I'm the type that wants to know what's going on and may happen. Some people may not want to do that. But the one video (or maybe I read it somewhere) there was some blood that ran down the ribcage. So this happened to me and I asked it it was blood. ( I was concerned it was my saline implant fluid) Found out it was blood and was cool with that. Got cleaned up and they used glue and butterfly stitches. A bandage over that and then a bandage over that. They had to put alot of pressure on the spot for a few minutes. No big deal. But thank God I still have an implant just in case it comes back benign. One of the biggest things that helped me to go through with it was I asked a friend that had worked at a hospital to ask his Dr. friends about the procedure and chances of a rupture. He said he had been doing it for years and never hit one. So if you're like me, scared with implants. It was all good. I was really glad for the way it was done. I wasn't strapped to a table. I was able to watch the ultrasound and see where the needle was. I had it done on the 26th and here it is the 28th. No pain. Some bruising. I should know probably Monday or Tuesday. Hopefully this will help someone. I didn't find alot when I tried pulling up the subject with implants.

Mareny109 - I'm glad things went well for you. Fingers crossed your results come back benign!

I, too, have implants, well, one now due to MX on one side. Mine are silicone and I had to sign off for all biopsies of the potential damage. I did not have any problems with either of my procedures.
