PARTIAL BREAST RADIATION

Hi Friends,

Can anyone here tell me if they did PBI rather than whole breast radiation?

I skipped rads and meds the first time around *( almost 8 yrs ago) due to health reasons yet here I am again! (ugh)
I have a great pathology report- thank God, but I don't want ' full rads' to my LEFT breast due to lung issues so I am thinking of PBI.

Please post here OR feel free to PM.

I have an appt THIS WED so I am hoping for some quick replies :>)
THANKS!
Laurie

Hi Purple - I think my Rads were partial because my skin was not burnt on the whole breast but only about 1/3 of the breast. I know rads on the left breast is tricky because it is also close to the heart. I totally understand your concerns

    THX nonomimi5

but thats not what would constitute PBI and you would have most likely had an abbreviated time ( 2 weeks ?) and been told IN ADVANCE.

    TY

ok. Then it must be whole. I am sorry. I never asked during the process because I was so overwhelmed and just did what I was told to. My treatment was about 17 rads.
