Hi a few of you may have interacted with me last year and late 2018 as my Mom was diagnosed with bc. Update: She is doing well - after her treatment.

I am back here in this forum for myself - at my annual exam this Monday, my gyn found a lump and I am absolutely paranoid. I really do hope it is nothing. My sister 2 years older than me was told she has very dense breasts and asked to come every 6 months after her screening mammo. I am 39, I will be 40 this Oct.

My diagnostic mammo (optional ultrasound) is scheduled for Monday Mar 2nd. The wait is agonizing. My kids are going to be 4 this May. I want to be there till when they are well into adulthood and have a family of their own.

Thank you for reading this far.

the waiting is hard! Hang in there and remember the odds are that it's nothing. Your dr is being proactive and diligent so that's good - you're in responsible hands.

It's so hard to wait, but it sounds like they are moving quickly, which is good. The odds are on your side. Please keep us posted.

The diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound was performed this morning. Findings - a mass that looked mostly benign (BIRADS 3) and a cyst were found side by side in the left breast where the lump was felt.

The recommendation is to have a 6 month follow up ultrasound - with the option for me to do a biopsy for absolute assurance.

The report that my gyn got said the mass shows classic fibroid (?) characteristics, so my gyn seems ok with the suggestion made by the radiologist.
