edited March 2020 in Not Diagnosed But Worried

I'm having a panic attack. My breast is not looking good right now and the specialist cant see me untik the 10th.

My breast suddenly has prominent veins, the skin looks a bid redder than the other and the skin texture is slightly different in spots. I have dense breasts

My sonogram showed some minor benign cysts but idk. The skin texture, redness and veins are freaking me out.

I have no pain, no other symptoms. I had routine bloodwork last month for a yearly physical. Still — i'm super scared.

I'm really not doing well right now.

I'm like 10 hours from home right now by myself 😞

Supernova - I answered another thread you started - both less than 5 minutes ago. It's best to to just one thread so people who are trying to help will get the whole picture.

thanks for your response! It wasn't him it was his nurse practitioner. This was about 3 weeks ago. I dont look at my breasts often because I dont like them much tbh.

i'm so worried I wonder if going to an emergency room would be helpful. I need peace of mind

I also deleted the copy thread.

Supernova - copied below is my answer from the other thread. As I mentioned, if you can get your regular doc to call in an Rx for anxiety meds to a drugstore where you are, that might be best.

No I don't think an emergency room for the breast issues would be helpful. But is you're really having a full blown panic attack, it might be valid - assuming you have really good insurance or lots of money. Best to try to distract yourself if possible.

supernova - hang in there girl. Since your doc has already ordered & reviewed a sonogram, if it was something critical or urgent, they would have contacted you. Step away from the mirror, quit looking and keep your hands away from your breasts. Turn on the TV and find something to binge watch. Saturday's not a good night for panic, but you can call your doc on Monday if you still think it's urgent.

Edited to add, I posted on the other thread you started at the same time. It's best to keep to one thread so people will be able to help.

If you have a doc that knows you well, PCP or OB/Gyn or whatever, you could always call and reach out to get an Rx for anxiety meds ordered to a drug store wherever you are.

Supernova - ER is not going to do anything. Take a deep breath and try to stay calm. Stress and anxiety won’t do any good. If you can’t wait until the 10th, try to find another doctor that can see you earlier.

I went to a breast specialist who said I likely have "mastitis" which i'm sure many if not all of you were wrongly diagnosed with.

I have some redness, some swelling of the tissue. No itching. No pain aside from the typical pain I feel before my period. The swelling looks like that "orange peel" skin that I have googled but not as bad. The areola looks a lighter but the breast isn't much larger in size.

I asked for MRI/biopsy and he said to come back in 2 weeks to see how the antibiotics are working. Should I get a second opinion? I'm not pregnant nor have I ever been, so i'm worried.

I really don't want to panic but I am :/

Supernova, I would just wait and see how the antibiotics work. At this point I wouldn't worry but that is hard to do. So right now, no need for a second opinion. Keep us posted.
