My name is Evelyn,

I am 33 years old and was diagnosed Just yesterday. I felt a mass a few months ago, and didn't think much of it. Just recently, I noticed that my breast had changed in its shape. I immediately went in to get checked, and was told they had to do a biopsy. I got my results yesterday and the mass turned out to be Invasive Lobular Carcinoma (ILC). They also found the ILC in my lymph node. As well as, Ductal carcinoma In situ in another area of my Breast. I feel like telling my parents was the hardest part, but luckily it went better than expected. Now I'm just waiting. Not knowing what to do.

I am so lost. I'm scared. I'm anxious. They are moving quick though, yesterday I went in for an echo-cardiogram and blood work. Now waiting on appointments for CT, MRI and bone scan.

I learned about this group from a professor at my University that beat breast cancer and has been cancer free for 7 years! She told me this would be a great place to get support. I have been reading a lot of posts and I truly appreciate all the love and support you give one another <3

Thank you and I will be happy to take any tips or advice.

Ev

Hi Evelyn, and welcome to Breastcancer.org,

We're so very sorry to hear of your diagnosis, but we're really glad your professor shared our Community with you! We know it's a confusing and overwhelming time right now, but please know our amazing Community is full of incredible members always willing to offer advice, information, and support -- we're all here for you! Try to stay calm, and positive while you wait for answers and a treatment plan.

While you wait for the ever-helpful responses from some of our members, we wanted to point you to some pages from the main Breastcancer.org site that you may find helpful:

In addition, you may find it helpful to introduce yourself on the Young With Breast Cancer forum, where you can meet others who are facing the unique issues that go with being diagnosed so young.

We hope this helps and we look forward to hearing more from you!

Ev so sorry to hear about your diagnosis and that you had to join the club. It's shocking and terrifying especially at such a young age. There is so much to take in. All of these feelings are normal and you're not alone.

Glad your team has the ball rolling and everything is getting scheduled. Waiting is one of the worst parts. Make sure you do as much research in the meantime and start writing down all of your questions for your doctors.

If you need someone to talk to you can PM me. I am wishing you the best and sending hugs.
