Anyone have insatiable hunger on Tamoxifen?

I have been on and off of tamoxifen for a few years with no major issues. Suddenly, I have insatiable hunger no matter what I do. All my labs (thyroid, A1c etc) have all come back normal so the only thing I can think of is tamoxifen. My oncologist doesn't think its likely but just know something is off with my body. I feel miserable and cranky because I am constantly starving! Anyone else feel like this?

Caligirl, I've felt like this. I'm pretty sure I felt it on tamoxifen and definitely on anastrazole. For me it is less about feeling hungry and more that I don't feel full when I do eat...which leads to feeling hungry all the time. Over the years I've had to learn that feeling hungry does not mean that my body needs food. It's a strange pattern to change up.

I don't know about the hunger part, but I stopped Tamoxifen (for a while) in mid-December, and I've finally started to lose weight since then.

Not sure I would call it "hunger", but lack of willpower with regards to food - LOTS of eating out, LOTS of eating stuff not good for me

Are you losing weight? Tamoxifen can cause weight loss. It could be your body trying to compensate for that.

Can you ask for a referral to an endocrinologist? They might have some ideas.

I GAINED weight on Tamoxifen, and found it very difficult to try to lose any. I only started losing weight when I stopped taking Tamoxifen in December. Everybody reacts differently to it.

I have gained ten miserable pounds. Am I so hungry? Not really. I started tracking my food on MyPlate. I hardly hit my caloric intake for the day. And almost never go over. I hate this drug.
