hello everyone- so happy to have found this support system and I send all of you hugs.

I am nervous. On Jan 2 I got the call that a lump I had core needle biopsied came back positive. It’s smallish IDC grade 2 - 1.3 cm. Because we could not see this lump on mammogram my surgeon ordered a breast MRI. Boy was that an experience! Ughhhh. I have been feeling pretty confident and in good spirits - we were planning on a lumpectomy and radiation...BUT the MRI detected a very small small mass .5 cm on the same breast. I was able to go in for an ultrasound and they found what they think was on the MRI and my heart broke they said it was a lymph node. They saw this node a month ago on ultrasound and two docs looked at it and said it was fine, looked small and normal so they did not biopsy it. Now they biopsied it (fine needle core biopsy). Now I am nervous about nodes! Everything about it so far is in my favor of no nodes, the size etc. but they looked at this one before and now it lit up on the MRI. What does this mean for me if the node is positive? Chemo? Mastectomy? I will have the results by Wednesday...surgery is pending on results and I want this out of me! please any words of wisdom or similar experiences..?

I had a positive node and didn't have chemo. The treatments depend on the type of cancer, (triple neg, triple POS, or one of several mixes), and a lot of technical things that get factored in, which others on here can explain. Don't jump ahead of what's happening now. And yeah, those breast MRIs are a bigger. If I ever need another, I'll request a tranquilizer dart first. That was worse than the surgery.
