Increased Nodularity

Just had my mammogram done. The results said increased nodularity upper inner quadrant. Needs ultrasound. What is increased nodularity and should I be worried? I do have very dense, fibrocystic breasts and have been called back for ultrasounds before with one biopsy. Just never heard that term. Thanks

nodularity refers to.the lumpiness of the breast, which is normal. Increased nodularity means increased lumpiness which can happen whenever you get a period. Might not be anything to worry about but scan a good idea just to check it out.

Thanks. My mammogram was done 3 days before my period. So hopefully that’s all that it is. But as I get older 50, I start to freak out a bit more.
