FNA results
hi- I had a breast fna done over 2 weeks ago on a lesion described as indeterminate hypoechoeic focus with irregular margin. I've called my GP' reception to chase results ans they spoke to her and told me she doesn't have all the results back' and will call when she does. Is it usual for FNA results to take so long? Should I be worried?

Two weeks sounds ridiculous. Call back and ask for whatever they currently have.
-
Cazpark - are you in the UK? Who did the FNA?
-
Hi Cazpark,
We just wanted to welcome you to our Community and thank you for posting. We understand it's a very anxious time while you wait for your results, but know we are all here for you. As IngerP suggests, it can't hurt to call back and ask for whatever information they do have in order to hopefully help you get some peace of mind.
Please let us know what you find out.

That is an insanely long wait. I had to wait 18 days between my mammogram, being told I needed a biopsy, and the results - but it took 10 days between the biopsy and getting the results. The wait was hell.... two weeks, they should have an answer by now. It is hard not to read into the situation ie. "it's taking a really long time for results - that must be bad news!" I thought that was the case, as (in the US) they do submt biopsies/scans to a tumor board but I had another biopsy a year after my surgery that came back benign and it also took that long. Press for more answers, tell them the uncertainty is really stressing you out.

hi- I’m in Australia.
-
I called the pathology place. Wouldn’t give me any info of course other than to say it ‘wasn’t completed’ could expect by end of week (3 weeks post ) and GO could call them to discuss of wanting any preliminary info.
I’m sure it’s fine but will be glad to just know and move on.

That is a long wait, and we all understand that the waiting and not knowing are the worst part.

my family doctor just called and said results back ans ‘all fine’ so I guess that’s that! Phew. Horrendous wait time. Annoyed I paid privately to wait so long when the govt clinic has same day testing!
Good luck to everyone
