Hi! I had a biopsy done 7 years ago. It was a cyst. This time my mammogram came back with changes to the biopsy site and now want to do an ultrasound. What changes can happen to a biopsy site? Very concerned as my mom passed away when she was 45 from breast cancer.

Doing an ultrasound after they see something on the mammogram is a fairly common occurrence. I wouldn't worry too much. There's really not enough info here for me to help you. I would look at your mammo report or get it. I can say that sometimes our bodies don't like foreign objects in them (like a biopsy clip) it could be giant cell reaction or another benign process within your breast tissue. The ultra sound should tell you more. Good luck

Increasing nodularity upper inner quadrant. There are post biopsy changes. Stable parenchyma pattern right breast. No suspicious calcification in either. I am heterogeneously dense.

It could just be that the clip has shifted positions with the, ahem, gravitational changes that have occurred over time.

Lol!!! I needed that laugh. I did just turn 50, so that is a possibility. Plus my hormones are going crazy.
