Hello. I am ryder51. I am wanting to get some feed back on radiation induced brachial plexus. I was diagnosed last year and it is on my right side from head and neck cancer. I am losing the use of my right hand, arm and severe pain . My main question is how fast does the decline to were I can't function occur. I am getting ready to travel in my RV, my last adventure. The pain level is increasing and I would like some input on that also. I have read some people's stories, but have not seen but a couple. I sure would like to here how others cope. I am a 67 year old male, motor cycle rider for 55 years and recently had to sell my harlley. I was a snow board instructor, avid skier snow and water, surfer, so you can imagine how much I have given up. My saving grace is I can still walk my dog 2 to 5 miles a day. I live in northern calif and I seek warmer weather do to the fact I now am affected by cold intolerance. ANY feed back would be welcomed. I can't cope some days because of the pain and I can't imagine more people enduring this. Because of the radiation I had surgery to repair two diisc in my neck,I woke up to 10 disc fused three titanium rods and 30 screws holding my spine together, I would also like to say that radiation shurnk my carotid artery like shrink tubing which caused a stroke in 2014. I also lost my thyroid, had skin cancer on my neck from the radiation and had a massive skin graft done at the same time the rods were put in. I NEVER smoked and lived a healthy life. This is my 16th year since the head and neck cancer, I feel I have won battles but not the war. There is more to the story of what I have been through but it would fill many pages. This is the first time I have used the media and I hope to tell my story to help others. THANK you in advance for any suppoort
