So you corrected the article and deleted my comment? I emailed the lead researcher, Christine Ambrosone, and asked her directly. She said this:

"I went and looked at the breastcancer.org site – the summary there is not correct and is not what was reported in the paper. Use of omega-3 fatty acid supplements was associated with higher rates of recurrence.

"We used a questionnaire that was developed and validated elsewhere and this category is really a 'catch-all' for many different types of supplements, so it is unclear what types of supplements could be driving the associations. It also needs to be kept in mind that observational studies can be susceptible to many different types of bias and results always need to be confirmed in multiple studies. These findings are really to guide researchers about next steps for research.

"I hope that clarifies your question."

Is there any particular reason you needed to delete my question about the article, rather than just answering me? I am not impressed with that decision.

MountainMia -- we did not delete your comment. We had posted the article in two separate forums.

In fact, we responded with gratitude to your notification: https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/79/topics...

    Thanks again.
