I got Diagnosed with IDC - tomorrow surgical consultation
I have such anxiety! It's so out of my control
I am 42 - my mammogram came back great on Nov 26 but I still felt a lump so my doc ordered an ultrasound - At the ultrasound on December 26 they did a biopsy on the lump - on January 2nd I got the call. Positive for cancer. IDC 1.3 cm grade 2 - that's all I know so far. I think they will tell me the hormonal impact tomorrow at my surgical consult.
Waiting is the worst, google is the worst...! I need a hug. I am so scared because I have silicone implants and they said my breast tissue is so dense they could not see my cancer on the mammogram and they did it twice. I hope there is not more.
I don't know what to expect and I can't sleep or sit still....tomorrow I will know more. Thank you for listening, i need hug

I'm sorry about your diagnosis but we are definitely here to give hugs!
I'm already a couple of months in to this journey and I still have a hard time sleeping or thinking about anything else. I wish i could tell you how to be positive and focus on something else but I'm still learning myself! Get as much info as you can from reputable sources and know that you have support here!

From what you've said, things don't look so bad. The implants might complicate things a little bit but these docs have seen it all and should know what to advise you to do. But for now, relax and do this thing one day at a time. Everyone you need is here for you.
[[[[Lots of HUGS!]]]]

Cindi - hope tomorrow goes better than you are expecting. Please DO ask your doc for some anti-anxiety meds. You don't have to suffer w/o any help.

Big Hugs Cindimay!!! We are all here for you! One day at a time my friend.. I know, easier said than done :-) I'm 8 years passed were you are right now, you'll get here before you know it! It's going to be a crazy whirlwind for a while... One of the best pieces of advice i read on here when I was first diagnosed was " You don't have to be brave, you just have to show up" And that is the truth. You'll likely have lots and lots of appointments and tests etc.... And you just have to show up. Make sure you jive with all of your doctors and surgeons, and they answer all of your questions to the point you understand what they are saying. Come here with questions regarding treatment, diet, side effects and everything you can think of, we have it covered!! We're here for you.

I had very similar biopsy results to you, and the time between getting those results and my surgical consultation was excruciating.
I felt a huge sense of relief after the consult though, and even with the many waiting games that followed, for me, the anxiety never again that bad.
I hope you will also find some relief tomorrow. Good luck!

We’ve all been where you are and know the anxiety you are feeling. The waiting is absolutely the worse!! I also had clear mammograms but b/c I have the BRCA1 mutation, I was being closely monitored and my tumor was found on MRI. It sounds like your situation is similar. The best thing I did for myself was to stay off google....too much old info that is scary. This is the best place to come for info and support. Try distracting yourself.....easier said than done and don’t go to the worse case scenario. Chances are very good that this is an early “catch” and very treatable. Sending a huge hug!! Let us know what you find out.

Cindimay, I know that the waiting is excutiating. What helped me the most after my diagnosis was coming here. There are so many supportive ladies that are either going through or already have gone through the same thing. You can ask questions and talk about how you’re feeling. This is a safe place, I promise. I hope your surgical consult went well and you have some more answers. Just having a plan can be really comforting. Sending you hugs
