I just finished my first chemo. Two drugs I am on cause hair loss so I am expecting to and “ok” with losing my hair. I’d rather not lose my lashes and brows if possible. No idea why I’m feeling this way but I am. Nothing to do with how I think others look, it’s 100% personal. Anyone know of any products out there that work/help? Or have tried particular ones that didn’t? I’m in Canada if that makes a difference. Cheers!

I used Latisse and was pleased. It's off label, but my MO approved. While my brows thinned, I never totally lost them.

My eyelashes and brows didn't come out until I was done with chemo. It was kind of a surprise! I wear glasses, so my eyelashes didn't show a lot anyway. When I needed a little dressing up, I used an eyeliner. They came back in pretty quickly, less than a month later. For my eyebrows, I bought Benefit eyebrow powder and drew them on. They looked great, really. Again, having my glasses masked it a bit, but unless you were quite close to me (and if you are that close, you should back up!) they looked really good. and they also grew in with about the same timing as the lashes.

So I can't help you with keeping them, but I can tell you there are ways to fake it pretty easily. ALSO if you don't regularly wear showy earrings, you might add those in the mix. They help put "punctuation" on your face, so it doesn't look as blank.

    Good luck!

I started the Latisse the same day I started chemo. Can't remember for sure, but think I put it on my eyebrows every night. I did not worry about my lashes. But I've never used make up on my brows and was determined I'd keep just those two things. It may seem like a small thing, but it was a victory for me.
