I received my biopsy results Monday, Benign .

5 vaccum assisted core biopsies, and a black and sore breast, but wow what a relieve. Mother had triple negative stage 3 IDC.

Today I received a call that the radiologist doesn't agree with the pathology, 3 stromal fibrosis and 2 biphasic fibroepithelial neoplasms with differential dx of benign phyllodes tumor. So I am now being sent to breast surgeon for Surgical excision??????

What is this, and how can they crush my high?

It is hard. I had the same thing happened to me. I ended up having a whole separate tumor from what they had biopsied. In the end, I felt very grateful that the radiologist was so diligent.

    Good Morning,

Thank you for your reply. I know it will all be ok, I just am confused as to how this happens. Just when I think I understand this process it throws a curve ball.

    Mimi,

I can only imagine how disappointing that must have been to hear after you had felt such relief. I will say that my radiologist had prepared me for that exact possibility. She said that however the pathology came back, there was a potential for disagreement between what she saw and what the path said, and that if that happened, they would recommend surgical intervention. She said that her agreement with the pathology was part of the process and would be documented in the report. In my case, she agreed with the pathology.

In any case, I am so sorry that is happening to you - wishing you the best in the full pathology that you will get after they remove it.
