Hi, I have just been diagnosed w/ IDC. I'm a 42 year old mom of three (19 yr. old, 13 yr. old, and a 6 yr. old)

I found a mass on 11/23 and I just knew it was cancer. Saw my family doctor on the 25th. Had sonograms and mammograms on the 27th. Had biopsies and FNA on 12/5 and on 12/9 what I knew was confirmed.

I have an MRI sched. for next Monday (12/16) and meeting my breast surgeon on 12/23.

I'm scared, overwhelmed, angry, and depressed. That's just some of the most current feelings lol

I'm going to start reading here since I have a lot to learn.

    Im so sorry you are here but welcome to these forums. You have all the right emotions. You’ll find a lot of support in these groups. The women are so knowledgeable and smart about all things Breast Cancer. The beginning is so hard and overwhelming. Hugs to you.

    I’m so sorry to be welcoming you to this “club” but you have come to the right place. Do yourself a favor and stay off google. Look here for answers. Google has a lot of old info and can create unnecessary anxiety. Looking here is a much improved alternative.

    Hate it for you. I was 40 when first diagnosed. 2nd time at 65. I am now 67 and still here. True I did not take the conventional route, but just want to say do not panic, read all you can, listen to your gut, take time to choose path. When told I had cancer again, it was disappointing. I was never afraid, because I just concentrated on surgery and getting back to myself. It all went quite smoothly. I made a vow to stop worrying about a lot of stuff, to give myself the best chance of surviving. Sending positive thoughts your way.

    I was 38 at the moment of diagnosis, my son was 4 .. I totally understand how you feel now, Just know that you will be fine and all these feelings will get lighter by time.. take a deep breath and face it as a difficult stage of ur life which shall pass soon... remember breast cancer is soooo curable nowadays

    hello sweetie I was also diagnosed with idc found my lump as we were preparing for our 2nd marriages. I had all the feelings most of us here felt at the time of diagnosis.and more just as I met man of my dreams. We just celebrated our 25th Anniversary and I am a 25yr Survivor. Praise God hang in there. msphil idc stage2 0/3 nodes 3mo chemo before and after Lmast then got married and then 7wks rads and 5yrs on Tamoxifen

    Hi ScatteredEnergy!

    I have been lurking on this site and it has great information. I was diagnosed October 28th after 2 biopsies the morning of my 46th bday! Since my MRI October 4th, I feel like these past few months have been a whirlwind. I have had many callbacks before, but was not prepared for the actual “you have cancer” from my doctor. What I will say, fast forward a couple of months. I am 8 days post double mastectomy and partial reconstruction. I have a partial pathology from a nurse that is positive. I am sore as heck, but am ready to move on with this process. The waiting initially has been the hardest part of every step of this process. Each appointment made me feel more in control. I have a 17, 16, 12 and 5 year old at home so it’s hard to take time to cry it out

    Badluckbdaygirl, it is so hard. I'm not in the best mood today. I hate these ups and downs. I also want this over and done with. I have so many fears.

    Hi ScatteredEnergy,

    I am from Miami Living in Washington State now though but all of my family is still in South Florida.

    I was diagnosed December 11th with DCIS and I have a 1 1/2 year old and have been feeling the same way, emotional ups and downs and every emotion across the spectrum. A lot of anger too because of the need to “keep it together" for my family and work. It's frustrating to not have the time to just feel everything without holding back!

    I just found this site and am really glad I did. I hope you find solace in the support here and the decisions you make for your care. I'm going to take an aggressive approach and honestly, just knowing for certain the path I plan on taking, is helping me feel more in control of this and regulating my emotional response.
