Multiple biopsies on one breast?

In the last 2.5 years I've had 4 biopsies on the same breast, including the excision of a high risk papilloma last June. Each 6 month follow-up visit finds some new calculations, mass w/calcifications, or architectural distortion. I had another mammo today and was called to come back because they found new calculations and want additional, magnified images. They will likely suggest a biopsy. My surgeon said the average woman will have 2 biopsies in her lifetime, and I've had 4 (possibly 5) in 2.5 years. I just want a clean mammo and not have to go through the constant anxiety and fear that "this"time will be "the" time it's not ok. Anyone else been in this situation and how has it turned out?

I had two biopsies several years apart with the last one at least 18 years go - both on the right breast. Then was diagnosed w/ cancer on my left breast. They actually did two biopsies on left breast at the same time, but only one was cancerous.

I had 2 excision biopsies in 2008 (benign) and now all these years later I had a 3 biopsies earlier this month, 2 turned out to be cancer. I will be having another biopsy in the coming weeks because the surgeon is making sure I do not have cancer in my lymphnodes. No doubt about it, biopsies suck. But it's much better to be vigilant and catch it very early than be like me, hoping and praying it has not spread. I understand it's expensive, as I have stopped looking at the bills. Take comfort in the fact you are being careful and if you ever find something it can be treated more easily.
