Damn. That water...

I am 14 months PFC and sometimes I can still taste the dirt water. I don't think it's an actual taste alteration at this point. I think I am just more in tune to certain bad tastes that were prominent to me during chemotherapy.

Probably. I couldn’t look at activa yogurt in the store isle for 2 years after red devil without wanting to barf. Try some of the flavor enhancer or some lemon in your water bottle. But keep chugged it!

I still hate water and I'm five years PFC! I drink flavored sparkling water these days. Also, I could only eat sweet things during Taxol + Herceptin + Perjeta; now, I never eat dessert.

I know exactly what you mean. I drank some unfiltered water last week and had a flashback. I dumped it and drank OJ instead. I used to drink straight from the tap all the time but now it has that bad chemo taste

What? Can someone explain what is the issue with the waiter? I love water. I would hate to lose that.

With chemo, your tastebuds get very dull and can make foods and beverages taste very odd or bland. I know the taste they are talking about. I used to equate it with drinking water straight out of a garden hose when I was a kid. A little metallic and definitely dirty tasting. During chemo I drank juice or tea or sometimes 7up or ginger ale. Water was just so blah that it was hard for me to drink a lot of it like you are supposed to do during treatment.

    ScatteredEnergy,

One of the things with chemo is that everyone reacts to it differently. If you do chemo, you won't necessarily have the same experience as me, who is not a big fan of water anymore. I still work to stay hydrated; it's just not with plain water anymore.

Chemo is doable; I worked full-time during chemo. But, it did change my attitude toward certain foods, and I'm OK with that.
