I am so sad to hear this. I noticed she hadn't posted since October and worried that may be the case. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. She was an amazing person and mother. I just feel so sick over this. Thanks, Shetland, for passing along the information.

Ah, damn...

I am grateful for her beautiful gift of words. Her post seems to be only 2 weeks before her death. She conveyed peace with this world.
I will never know what happened, whether it was ultimately her cancer or her treatments that finally took her life, but appeared from her postings elsewhere that she was done after suffering setbacks the last few months.
Shetland, was there an obituary? Not that it matters- it sometimes helps with closure to say goodbye to a long time posting cyber friend.
The longer that I am on BCO, the harder to see original friends that helped me as a stage IV newbie needless perish from this disease madness.
My thoughts are with her family.

Yes, Sandi; understanding her situation, Sunset had, with her usual courage and grace, chosen not to “chase another chemo”, and to spend her time with loved ones at home. So it was the cancer that took her life. I’m very sorry, I feel I cannot post her obituary without compromising her privacy, and from past communications I know she did value privacy. I’m sorry! I know what you mean about losing people we have known here. It makes me feel sad and empty. I have so many people on my Friends list that have passed away. I keep their avatars there in their memory.

Oh, wow, I am SO sorry to hear this. From the short time I have been actively reading and posting on BCO, I always thought that her posts were hopeful and helpful. I hope that her family can find peace by holding her in their hearts and knowing how hard she fought to stay with them.

I am saddened to hear of this loss. Sunset was a lovely person who gave touching support to so many of us on these boards. She shared her positive attitude and sense of humor with us right up to the end. I wish her family peace and comfort during this difficult time.
Hugs and prayersto all, Lynne -

I am deeply saddened to hear of the loss of another sister. Even when I didn't post, I always came to the boards to read and Sunset's posts always lightened my heart. Her spirit was so strong even when her body was failing her. I hope her family and loved ones will know how much she will be missed by people she never met. She will live on in all our hearts.
