No pain but when I take a deep breath

Options

Hello ladies

For about a week if I take a deep breath like a yawn I feel a twinge in my left boob area. I know I have about about another week until I should call my mo but the fear that something is back is paralyzing me.im really hoping it's a heart issue vs cancer again

So many things it can be but I totally get the fear. Have you had a cold or any respiratory stuff? Lots of bronchitis around here. New pillow or sleeping position?

No real answers just letting you know you're not alone out there.

Mamasha: When we hope for heart issues, you know we are stressed. Anything seems better than more breast cancer. I am not a doctor, but it also sounds like a muscle or connective tissue issue. I have had so many pains as you describe on both sides. It took years, but I can finally disregard these pains. Breathing moves connective tissue like muscles, tendons, etc. It is so easy to pull something with a heavy purse, grocery bag or even twisting your body to check behind you while driving. Even sleeping wrong. If you do not have any other symptoms like shortness of breath or worsening of pain, try to relax and forget about it. And then see your dr if it persists. I have had these twitches and pains last for weeks though. I often wonder whether radiation is the culprit even when it’s not on the radiated side. I found if I worried, the pain persisted. When I stopped focusing on it, the pain disappeared. Easier said than done. Hate that we have to worry about every ache and pain. Hate that you have to hope for heart issues. Sending my care

hi green eyes thanks for checking on me. I decided to do what TB90 suggested to kinda ignore it and that has helped. It was pain that would shoot up my chest after a deep breath So of course my mind instantly went to dark places. The shooting twinges have stopped I’m trying to wait it out to my mammogram in Jan.

My sister is IV and I really try to live like that’s her and I’m going to be ok. I am just about to celebrate 3 years since dx and everything has been good but then something happens to your body Especially pain in the chest area and I’m like oh god please not cancer again. I truly appreciate wallycat tb90 and green eyes for talking me off the edge. Thanks for always being there

Just as an outside chance, it is crazy but gas pains can cause nerves in the lower area to touch above the abdomen. When I had ovarian surgery, they blew up my abdominal cavity area with a gas so they could see stuff and the first thing the gyn said is that as the gas dissipates, I may feel pain in my shoulders and upper chest so not to freak out.

I am glad you're doing better.

Mamasha, radiation can play havoc with our nerves, connective tissues, etc., as TB90 pointed out and this can continue for years. What’s more, for me at least, the issues are not consistent; it’s not unusual at all to have a new ache or pain. The dumbest things can set it off, such trivial things that you might not even remember them. I hope that’s all you’re dealing with! Maybe it will help a bit, too, to know that even years after radiation it’s not unusual. I’m glad the shooting pains have stopped and hope it stays that way
