Puckering

I have a dr appt in two weeks to get this checked out but I’m not sure I should even be worried about it.

When I lift by left arm up for a self exam my left breast puckers in the right lower corner, so my boob looks more square than round at the bottom. My right breast does not do this.

So when I’ve been taught about self breast exams and symptoms I know dimpling and puckering is a sign to get checked out but does it matter if the puckering only occurs when the arm is lifted? It’s fine when my arm is down so I’m thinking it’s probably nothing, but I’m going to get it checked out anyway.

I’m slightly paranoid because my maternal grandmother died from breast cancer and my mom died from cancer as well.

Hi there- just wanted to encourage you about getting something checked that drew your attention. Breasts vary person to person, left compared to right, as well as arm position because the muscles under the breast tissue change breast alignment. A clinical breast exam by your provider may help put your mind at ease. Depending on your age, your menstrual cycle and other factors they may decide to have breast imaging done for a baseline.

Take care of you, hoping for good results for you to ease your mind. Please let us know how things went for you.
