Side effects of flasodex & ibrance *newbie

Hello! I'm new to this community. I was diagnosed with BC in late 2015 IDC stage 3b, left breast, lymph nodes, ER & PR + but HER2- I was treated in 2016 with 4 rounds of A/C & 12 rounds of taxol; then double mastectomy; brca negative; both ovaries removed, 35 rounds of radiation & 3 years of letrozole. I just found out that it has metastized to my lungs, liver, ribs, pelvic, spine, hip & femur.
The biopsy of the liver came back 1) same BC & 2) same hormone receptor positive. Still waiting for HER2 results. If negative, the 1st course of plan is to take flasodex monthly & ibrance daily.
Has anyone had a similar background and still have it metastized this much/quickly. & what common Side effects have y'all experienced with this combo. Also how long has someone here been living with MBC of this extent?
Tips are appreciated
Thank you in advance for your time & help!

First Welcome
Proverbs 31 is one of my favorites too
My extensive bone mets were not present during intital scans when first diagnosed tail end of July 2018, after AC+T and total mastectomy when radiation was supposed to start...whammy bone mets...mine seemed to actually grow on the stuff, bone mets in same places as you as well as sternum. I am into my 2nd week on Ibrance/Aromasin combo Cycle 2 and doing ok, Feels much better than AC did that's for sure. Each drug in Ibrance combo has its own little annoyances but very tolerable. Some say faslodex is even more tolerable than an AI, no little pill to remember either as it's a shot. My side effects on Ibrance are thus far: sore scalp, mild hair thinning, mild heartburn, gas (epic) and mouth/tongue sores (Colgate peroxyl works great against this). Ibrance can disturb sleep so I take in the morning with breakfast. Feel free to PM if you'd like
more ladies will be around soonwho may be able to be more helpful than me

Hello radagstrabbit! Thank you for your welcome & all the great info!! I appreciate it! Good to her that ibrance and flasodex isn't as bad as a/c! Oohh I got mouth sores alot while on taxol and that was probably 1 of the worse for me lol thank you I will get Colgate peroxly this week (I'll likely start ibrance on Tuesday).
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hi Proverbs312,
Sorry to hear you are stage IV, but welcome. There is a ibrance thread with quite a few ladies on it. There is quite a few who have been on ibrance 2+ years and have quite a bit of knowledge. Look for a active thread called ibrance.

Hi Proverbs312, I am also newly dx stage IV, got my first injection of Faslodex on 11/22 and started Ibrance the day before Thanksgiving. So far, so good! The ladies on the Ibrance thread have been very welcoming and helpful. I am taking Ibrance at dinnertime because I read that it can cause fatigue but 2 out of 3 nights I had a hard time sleeping so maybe i need to rethink that! Sorry you are here but know you will get great support.

ZZZAAAZZZAAA, from your previous posts it looks like your mother stopped responding to Aromasin, which is an aromatase inhibitor. Faslodex is a good option in your mother's situation. I understand that the options are more limited in Egypt, but Faslodex is still very good. Nobody can give you a guarantee that your mom will be fine, because Stage four breast cancer is not curable. But she can live many years if she responds well to treatment. Please stop worrying so much about the tumor markers. The response to the treatment as seen on CT or PET scans is more important. It will take some time to see any effect, so please try not to spend all your time worrying. Instead, focus your energy on doing enjoyable things with your mom. Doesn't have to be anything big - share a coffee or a meal, watch a show together, chat about your day.

Thanks for you i spent all the time with my mom but she is in pain and she can t hangout with me i love her so much i need marry and my mother see my son and travel with us i need my mother back again

Hello zzzaaazzzaa
I'm sorry to hear that your mom is in alot of pain and that you are worried. I've only had 1 faslodex and it has been fine so far. I agree with Piggy99, no one can guarantee your moms response to treatment, not even rhe doctors can, there is only One who knows the beginning from the end, when we truly trust in Him, we can experience peace that surpasses all understanding. May you and your mom find that peace
With Love,
Jessica
