Swollen lymph nodes but sono and mamo b9
I have a history of breast cancer on my moms side. I am 39yrs old and asked my ob so refer me to get tested because I was having pain in my auxiliary area. My sono and mamo came back b9 but they did show that my lymph nodes were 3in and the dr said they are supposed to be 1in. I have a bit of pain. They have stated that I should get an mri but I had miscarried in 2017 and have become irregular. My last period was Sept 19. I am worried with all this and I I know that worry dosent help for my period. Any one have this?

Hi Gtzcarrillo, and welcome to Breastcancer.org,
We're so very sorry you're here and worrying. It's great news that your ultrasound and mammogram came back with good results. Of course, swollen nodes can be worrisome, but there are plenty of innocent reasons for this as well.
Are you planning on having the MRI as suggested? Perhaps that will give you more information about what is going on.
Please keep us posted on what you find out!

yes I am. But the imaging techs have advised me that I can not get an MRI done until I have my period. Due to that it might give me a false negative/positive. But all of the worring I know has alot to do from me not getting my period. I dont have any symptoms just the fatigue. But that is because when I had the miscarriage I went into a depression without not knowing and over ate. I have gained weight which also has to do with my being irregular. My ob sent me to my dr but my dr said that when she did a hands on she does not feel them like balls more like rubbery. I dont know what to do šš«

Hi Gtzcarrillo, I am sorry to hear about your miscarriage and depression. Did your primary or GYN order any Labs to rule out infection? MRI's I have learned from this site have false positives and your Ultrasound was good. If your doctor is aware and not concerned maybe, you can relax and revisit this issue after the Holidays. Good luck to you.

no the only thing they are trying is to get me to do an MRI. I explained to them what the techs advised me of but she said they are not dr. That that is why they were asking for with and without contrast. Is there any relief as to what I'm not supposed to feel to put a bit more ease to mind. I have read the symptoms of cancer. And like I said I have not had loss of appetite. And the fatigue is due to over weight. The soreness is the only thing I feel. But not something too drastic. What my ob said was that if it hurt I shouldn't be worried because cancer does not hurt. Are there any signs that I should take into consideration until then??

Lymph nodes can measure large in overall size and still be normal. Can you post the ultrasound report? There should be a measurement of the thickness of the cortex of the node and of the hilum (fatty center of the node) and how many of the look that way. If those measurements are not there ask them to review the images they have and issue an addendum to the report indicating those measurements.
Even if the node looks abnormal, if the breast study is normal it may not be associated with the breast at all.
