hey y'all,

I am an 18 year old girl and about three months ago I noticed a very slight dent on my breast that can really only be seen when I put a light source under my breast. I just wrote it off as nothing. About a month ago I noticed that the area around that dent is thick. The dent looks like a very slightline and when I put my fingers over it it feels like a soft bump.If I squeeze that area I can feel an oval shaped thing but I am not sure if that is just my breast tissue. The thickened area does not feel hard or anything it just feels like there is something underneath my skin but nothing hard. It almost feels like there is something poking out of my skin. Strangely the dent and thickness completely disappear when I lie down, lift my arms, or when I get goosebumps on my breast. So my question is if this could be a benign condition all I see when I google is cancer and I am really worried...I am calling my doctor tomorrow to schedule an appointment, but I keep googling finding the scariest stuff..

Hi kenzkenz and welcome to Breastcancer.org,

We're so very sorry you're here and worrying, but we're glad you've reached out here. You're sure to get some great advice and support while you figure out what's going on with your breast. Please know it's very, very rare for a woman your age to be diagnosed with breast cancer, so hopefully that will help put you a little at ease. It's far more likely that this is definitely a benign condition that will be nothing to worry about!

We're glad you're calling your doctor tomorrow -- you'll have much better peace of mind once you get a check up and discuss the issue. Please let us know what your doctor says! In the meantime, try to stay positive and stay off google!

Do not Booble! Go to your doctor's appointment so you can put the worry behind you. And quit poking at your breast. :)
