I am a lousy cook really. I can make cookies okay. My mother was an awesome cook and had her own restaurant, Chinese. She worked in a restaurant in San Diego when she was a teen. She tried to teach me, and I was a teenager and didn't care. I wish I had learned now. She died of colon cancer when I was 19. Oh, if only we could go back and change a few things.
The next person loves Chinese food.

MissouriCatLady, I'm sorry that you have regrets and your mother died young. I sympathise.
Not really.

Thank you, Aussie. Holidays bring back more memories seems like.
You are very kind, and let us know what your next person line is, sweet lady. Hope your fires are better there.

MissouriCatLady, I understand about holidays bringing back more memories. It's the same for me with my twin sister having died in May. I haven't watched the news, so I'm not sure about the bush fires. Thank you for your kind words.

Missouri Cat, don't worry it's easy to make that mistake. By the way I live in the state where most of the bushfires are...More than 60 are still burning across New South Wales. We are in Sydney but suffering from terrible smoke haze still, my daughter bought a mask as she is an asthmatic. -

WorrythePooh, prayers and hugs for you and your family in these fires. It is heartbreaking to see on the news.
I feel overwhelmed too, Aussie, hugs. We are getting together for Thanksgiving Thursday and my SIL and stepmother cannot stand each other. This year, I am thinking, is the last year I am putting myself through this situation, if I have the courage to walk away after this. Life is too short. My stepsister bought a new house and is having it there, but she is having my husband hang up blinds all day, which is adding to my frustration. Sorry to vent, thank you. Hugs to all who are overwhelmed.
I don't live in a big city, and like not having the traffic.
