Hi everyone,

I had a small spot on my breast a month ago, almost like a pimple deep under my skin. I currently do not have insurance until Jan 1st, so I let it be- not concerned about it at all. It sure enough started to shrink and a couple weeks ago I was checking up on it in the shower and found something else. A large lump more so in the middle of my breast, the size of a ping pong ball or so. I hate to admit that i do not perform regular self-exams (I am 28, and didn't think it was necessary yet), so I have no idea how long this lump has been there. It is hard and slightly movable. I know that i need to get this checked out, however I do not have insurance until January. Any advice on where to go from here? Can I wait until January? Can Planned Parenthood help me? Any advice would be very much appreciated! The worry has been consuming me!

    Dear Kelsey,

We are sorry that these breast changes and the worry they cause have brought you here to our community but glad that you reached out for help. We hope others will offer their experiences but here is some information from our main site about paying for care. Check out Help for People without Health insurance. You also can check out Planned Parenthood and community health clinics in your area. Keep us posted on what you learn.
