I love my job! I work with printing plates and cutting dies that are used in making corrugated boxes! I'm a very deatiled person and this provides me with a daily challange. I have done many things in my work life but I truely love my job I have now.

There's a thread in the Moving Beyond - Time to Circle the wagons about different jobs peopl have done and are doing. I think you might find it interesting

Think of things you really like to do and then look to see if there is a job that goes along with it. Every job has it's headaches and part of that is the other people you have to work with. I work with mostly good people!

I like what I do but it is high stress....and I have to carry a pager periodically which I absolutely hate. I'm a software developer. Any job is going to have parts that you don't like. Some are better than others.

I hated being a secretary because it was a job where everyone seemed to dump everything they didn't want to do. Just give it to the secretary. I think my all time favorite job was a budget clerk. It was low stress and the duties were specific. I couldn't get Jane Doe's project that she decided she didn't have time for after all or didn't enjoy doing.

I'm a teacher and I love my job. I will qualify that with saying that I work in a private, Christian, school and it is a fantastic place to be. Not all schools are like this.

I'm a geeky computer person too - I work for a large 5 hospital network (very handy during tx and appointments) making different applications talk to each other. Luckily our customers are physicians so being On Call is easy. I can work from the office or home so that works well too. I was gone most of yesterday afternoon being a mom - I'll make the time up this weekend after everyone is a sleep. Plus I work with some wonderful caring people and have a great boss.

I am RETIRED!!! woo-hoo...but too many times I miss my old job. I miss the electricity and the sizzle and the pissedofffeelings when I had to pack on a moment's notice for a trip to WDC for a meeting. I miss a lot of things...but, I don't miss the day-to-day personnel problems I had to deal with...and, I for sure don't miss that 6:00 am alarm clock! I was so fortunate--sitting at my desk one day trying to draft some federal legislation--at a chemobrain time that I could hardly remember my own name--waiting to have the dreaded chat with an employee who who wa getting a letter of reprimand--and, it dawned on me--I LOVE this, but I don't have to do it any longer. I submitted my retirement papers and I've never looked back for more than a second or two.

    If you're wanting a career change--a new challenge--a new direction--GO FOR IT!!!!!!

I'm just an admin, but I love my job, too. I work for a Christian adoption agency, and helping to place babies in good homes is very satisfying.

I am a 'legal administrative assistant' which basically means I am a legal assistant and office manager. I ADORE my job! And I'm the secretary that gets to give things I don't like to do to other secretaries lol...not that I would ever do that...

Im work for the state as an office manager for a salmon/steelhead recovery science lab.....basically means I work with fish biologist that are trying to help the salmon/steelhead re-populate here.....
As I said I am just the lowly office person here but my boss is very good about letting me go out an do field work with the others if I whine enough or they need extra hands....he says he afraid I will want to change job classes and become a field tech.....keep asking him why I would do that when I have the best of both worlds ......

LOVE MY JOB!!!!!!!! and those I work with

I work part time for American Airlines in reservations, but the greatest thing about it is that I work at home, and get flight benefits!
    Gotta love those flight benefits!

I work for a Cruise Line. I manage the Print Shops on the ships I'm on. The nice part of that job is that I make my own schedule and I have been around the world several times...for free! The traveling is wonderful. It's a great job when things are running smoothly. But not a good one to have if you've been diagnosed with breast cancer, are away for 4 months at a time and need good health insurance. Being a seafarer does have some disadvantages. So for now I have to leave that and have been offered a job as a Production Manager for a printing company here. Hopefully I'll like that job as much as the one I have to leave behind.

I have two part-time jobs out of necessity. I sell Real Estate which I absolutely adore. It gives me gratification when you shake hands with a Buyer after closing and they have the huge grin on their faces! When the market is slower (like now) I do mystery shopping. That is very interesting and I get to make my own schedule. I can shop at Staples one day and go look at 2 carat diamonds the next! Not bad having your dinner paid for once in a while either! I will be glad to share my contacts if anyone is interested.

I've had the best jobs that have taught me so much about people and values. But my new job tops them all. I'm the executive director for a new organization that will help women all over the country with decisions in Breast reconstruction after mastectomy. I'm doing a ton of public speaking about breast cancer, and the people I have met through various organizations are people I otherwise would never have met...
I absolutely think everything happens for a reason, and I think this was my destiny.

Well Beth I think your perfect for that job. You have such a positive attitude and were extremely supportive to/of me when I had to deal with reconstruction.

All these jobs sound so interesting.
