please recommend a swimsuit
Hi all,
I had a BMX in 2010, and reconstruction with implants under the pectoral muscle. No nipple reconstruction. There is about a 4 inch horizontal incision across the front of each breast, well healed.
I swim quite a bit, and am having an issue where the suit rubs against the incision, causing irritation. I'm afraid it will start bleeding one of these days. I posted about the issue in the Reconstruction forum, where one of the helpful ladies there prompted me to take a close look at my swimsuits. They all have small seams, either in the bra shelf or in the outer fabric layer, that run over the incision line in my breasts.
Can anyone can recommend a swimsuit that is fully lined, but with no seams around the breasts? I would like something good for rigorous lap swimming, but somewhat more modest that the competitor suits from Speedo and Tyr. I presently use variations of this one from Land's End and this one from LL Bean.
I'd especially appreciate feedback from people who swim *a lot*. I didn't have issues with my swimsuits at three swims a week, but five or six makes those incision lines real ugly, real fast.
Thank you!

You might try doing a search for "seamless bathing suits". I've seen a few but just in passing.

Thanks. I've done some searching but am hoping someone in this community, since there are a lot of us with similar breast issues, might have a recommendation.

i've decided to go flat because my body has already been through enough and i'm still coping with the side effects of exemestane. I found the rash guards (long sleeve swim tops) and swim skirts at Landsend to be doable. I don't feel as self conscious as i would in a "normal" swimsuit and yet it is still feminine. I get a patterned top so it camouflages the lack of breast and bright happy colors for the skirt. They have short and long skirts as well as flirty mini skirts (my favorite). hope this helps

I do like those rash guards at lands end and have been using them as a sunblock. They're great! Hope you are enjoying your time in the pool.

Hi. I just saw this thread. I have been worried about swimming, as my deep scar runs from the left quadrant of my left breast to my under arm. These swim shirts, rash guard, are perfect. Thank you so much!

I'm so glad they do the trick - happy swimming!
