i am 32. I found a weird lump in my boob and had the doctor check it out. She referred me for a diagnostic mammogram.

Now that i keep feeling it and feeling my other boob, i have convinced myself that i totally overreacted and that its just that one boob is thicker and denser than the other.

I have extreme social anxiety and have never been to the doctor before this. My mammogram is today and i am just so afraid that the doctors are going to be rude to me when it comes back clear. Like i overreacted and am being a hypochondriac crazy person. I can definately feel that the boob is different than the other boob, but i just think its okay now and i dont know if i should get the mammogram or if they will be mad i wasted their time.

You aren't overreacting. You absolutely should get the mammogram. Something that "feels different" is a change in your breast and needs to be investigated and that is why your doctor referred you. Nobody would be mad at you or rude or think you are crazy - that is not how this works. Go and get it done.

you’re being smart about your health! It’s so much better to get things checked out and there be nothing wrong. As far as them thinking you’re wasting their time...it’s their job. And clearly your dr didn’t think you were crazy and agreed with getting it checked out just to be safe or she wouldn’t have referred you.
It’s easier said than done, but try not to worry what anyone thinks. Hope everything goes great for you.

My experience with my local breast center was very positive. Everyone was so kind and they seemed like they would genuinely be happy for me if there was nothing on the scan. I think you are smart for going to the doctor and the doctor would not refer unless they felt it was worthwhile. You are making good choices for yourself and I am willing to bet you will be treated professionally and with care.
