I started weekly Taxol 13 days ago. I have the third infusion today. I also get Herceptin and Perjeta once every three weeks and so far have only had them once.

I started to get diarhhea a few days after the first infusion. I took Immodium about every other day and that worked. Now I am taking multiple doses every day and am still having watery stools. If you have any tips for how to manage diarrhea better, I would appreciate your input.

Also, how far in advance were your chemo infusions scheduled? I only get them for one to two weeks at a time and they keep switching the day of the week. I guess I expected I would get the entire 5 month schedule right away.

Thanks

I had this issue as well. Have you talked to your MO about it? They should be able to prescribe other meds that help with this. I found that Lomotil usually did the trick. (I am back to taking it now because I am currently on neratinib!) Also, the infusion nurses where I received treatment always asked about these things as well, and they were always helpful.

The BRAT diet, as suggested by Hb4hikes3, is helpful too. It is hard to sustain for long periods, though, and I found that during chemo I ate what sounded good when it sounded good.
