Bi-Rads 3 (PROBABLY benign), what should I do?

Did a mammography and ultrasound both at the same time. Got my result today:

- Breast is very dense/density D

- - Classification BI-Rads 3 : "Multiple probable benign indeterminate masses".

- Recommendation: Follow up with Ultrasound + Mammography every 6 months for the next 2 years.

Am I better off going to a breast specialist, or an oncologist, or a different type of doctor?

A Radiologist who specializes in breast imaging is actually the best doctor to assess mammogram and ultrasound images. An Oncologist would likely just look at the Radiologist's report and not at the imaging itself. That would be true as well of some Breast Specialists, although some would want to see the actual images.

A BIRADs3 means that your Radiologist assessed a less than 2% chance that whatever was seen in your imaging is cancer.

Do you have a copy of the full report? If you provide the details, djmammo, a discussion board member who is a breast Radiologist, might be able to offer up an explanation as to why the description warrants a 6 month follow up rather than an immediate biopsy, or advise if he feels a second opinion on the imaging would be warranted.

Thanks Beesie! Yes I do have a report (multiple papers not sure which one(s) is most relevant), and it would be amazing if he can look into it. Should I DM him or is there a thread where I should post this?

Edit I think I found the thread called interpreting your report, looks like that's the one. Thank you SO MUCH, didn't even know such help existed. This community keeps blowing me away.
