Liver pain/ discomfort; how do liver mets present?

Options

Hi, ladies-

For about the past two months I have been having intermittent liver pain. Mostly I feel discomfort all day long: it is like a weird stretching/fullness (it is hard to describe) with bloating that is in that area. I have palpated the spot and can feel *something* that is not present in the same area on my left side. It feels sort of like a knot.

I am going to ask my obgyn to palpate my liver when I go in for my yearly next week and see what she thinks. We have a great professional relationship and she originally diagnosed my BC. I trust her.

I haven't breathed a word to my husband about this, and it has been hard. We work together and are with each other practically all day long. He is also an incredibly anxious person and would be a total basket case if he even thought anything might be wrong. I feel really alone right now.

I know that liver mets can be insidious and be present with few or no symptoms. I have tried to find out how liver mets presented for ladies on the board, but haven't really found any stories. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Hi there, I do not have liver mets but one piece of info I can give you as a Stage IV woman is that my MO does palpate my liver area during my exams so there must be something she believes she can learn from doing that. Of course, only a scan and a biopsy can diagnose mets for sure. Hopefully, talking to your doctor about this will get you on the path to learning what is going on. Wish you the best of luck!

Lots of things can cause pain to that area; usually gall bladder, etc. The pain is persisting, so do get it checked.
