How long do you usually wait?

I had an MRI on Friday. I was supposed to get results today, Monday. The day came and went without a call. I frantically refreshed my patient portal online and stood by my phone all day. At what point do you call your office if you haven't heard? I had a similar issue the last time I had an MRI and the waiting just killed me. Thanks.

    Is your imaging place near to you? You can always go there with an ID and ask for a copy of the report yourself, if you want it. Sometimes reports are not put on the patient portal until the doc okays that.

    This same thing happened to me when I was first diagnosed and Onc sent me for MRI. His office was not helpful. I called the place who did my MRI and had them email my report.

    My Onc apparently reviews the results at next appointment, but I wanted mine sooner. I don't think the Oncs understand how important it is to our mental health to get our results.

    my reports don’t hit the portal until a day or two after I’m called with results. Hopefully they’ll call you early tomorrow so you can get your results.

    I give a solid week before I call and nudge. If it were me, if I hadn't heard by close of business on Thursday, I'd call first thing Friday morning. That's me though--I work in healthcare so I see how crazy busy it gets behind the scenes and I don't like to be the patient that calls all the time, lol. In any event, Friday to Monday isn't that long, especially if the doctor who is supposed to call you is seeing patients on Monday. I know none of my doctors release anything to a portal until the patient has been notified of the results.

    Hope you hear something soon! Waiting is hard.

    Thanks. I wish I saw this before I called haha. I waited till the end of the day today and called, and the Dr. called me back and sure enough she was off yesterday and in the ER all day today. Benign by the way. Phew. But thank you all for your perspective!
