New lump
Hi, I'm from England but find this site the best. I'm 11 yrs out from IDC in left breast, I had mastectomy, chemo, rads and Herceptin, also had a reconstruction,I found a pea sized lump which in one week got a bit bigger, went to doctors who also said he could feel another lump and maybe a lymph node. Have an appointment with the breast clinic next week but I'm worrying myself sick, also reconstructed breast feels very heavy!!! Many thanks for reading xx

Hi Jackie, can't help you much, but I am sure someone will be along who can. My thoughts are with you during this stressful time, prayers that it is not cancer again! xxx

Thank you xx

Hi jackie,
I'm also in the UK and had HER2 positive breast cancer in 2007. I know the fear of it never goes away and the stress is so hard. If it's a new primary, hopefully it's been found early. Big hugs

Thank you x

Hi Jackie,
UK here too, Have you been NHS two week fast tracked? What does the GP think? It's a horrid worrying time for you.
-
Hi, yes my appointment is next Thurs. He didn't really say much but he freaked me out when he mentioned lymph node. But his face kinda said it all, then he said of course it might not be but by then I had already started to cry lol xxx
-
Oh Jackie so sorry to hear you were crying, tears can spring up so readily as that familiar gut wrenching fear returns and the thought of what might have to be faced. I think about it all the time and I am 7 years since diagnosis. I see you have been a long time with no recurrence and I suppose as time passes there can be a lull of thinking of the cancer much less than those early days; so any threat of recurrence is an absolute shock.
In my experience GP's do not know a great deal about breast cancer so it's good you are being referred quickly as I have known of some GP's who want a 'watch and wait' approach.
I have nothing new to add about the horrid waiting time from now, other than just taking one day at a time and get through it that way. I seem to dissociate whilst I am at the hospital and 'close down' when facing the barrage of tests.I prefer to go alone to handle whatever comes next. by myself. I am in Yorkshire, pm me if you want any support.

Thank you so much for your msg, I'm feeling a bit numb at the min as doctor upped my dose of anxiety medication, otherwise dont think I could have coped with the waiting, thank you for your kind words xxx

Another UK’er here. It’s impossible not to go dark o always do. But - in the interest of short term sanity remember there are other possibilities. Benign cysts and lumps. I recently found a lump near my scar and I could not believe it it grew to the size of a walnut in no time and was rock hard. Even my onc went quiet when he examined it. Turned out to be some weird abscess - who knows why. I don’t want to diminish things - if you’re facing cancer again that’s really tough - but you can do it. If it is, But until you know for sure try and let yourself off the agony of waiting because it could be all benign.
-
thank you for your msg, your right of course, I'm trying to think positive thoughts, I was always prone to cysts so here's hoping xx
-
Hoping you get answers soon adn that these are benign. Thinking of you. Keep us posted.
