I’m starting this topic for those of us on AI’s (I’m taking Arimidex) and have very thin and fine hair ( mine is genetic.) My hair is thinning either from age and/or the Arimidex.

1. Which doctor did you see for help? Dermatologist?

2. What shampoo and conditioner do you use? Has to be color safe.

3. What styling products do you find helpful?

4. If you use a hair topper do the clips weaken your hair?

5. I’m trying to save what little hair I have. I’m afraid to try Nioxin shampoo because of the shedding. Does anyone have experience with these products?

I appreciate any help you can provide.

Philip Kinsley products. The hair thickening shampoo and conditioner. He developed a line for his wife who had breast cancer. They are kind of expensive though.

Biotin & Collagen shampoo and conditioner by ogx.

I don't use a topper but I use the colour spray (for greys) to fill in the very thin (balding) patches. Revlon product. The colour sits on top the hair and gives it appearance of being thicker. I only use occasionally because you have to wash it out. Works great.

All safe for coloured hair. I keep my hair in a very short pixie cut and dye it very dark brown to match my eyebrows.

I did start using CVS brand of Minoxidil but it was too messy to use every day and I dont have the patience.

There is a thread about the I-restore helmet somewhere on these boards. Seems to work for some but way too much effort for me.

    Hope that helps.

Thank you trinigirl50. I’m definitely going to look into these products. So much is hit and miss. I use Toppik but it does make my scalp itch if I use it too much. I appreciate your suggestions.

sorry the hair root touch up cover spray is L'oreal Magic Root cover up. Not Revlon.
