In July, I was diagnosed w stage three triple negative bc. I’ve completed 6/8 rounds of AC-T chemo- I’m scheduled to be done Halloween. I found out last week, after two rounds of taxol was that my liver is having issues. I’m adamant on staying in schedule. Does anyone have any recommendations for keeping liver enzymes down?

hi -being on chemo can throw off your liver function tests -sometime quite a bit-have you shared your concerns with your doc?? if not please do and hopefully you can be reassured

Ihearthhavis, I had the same chemo and, at one point, my liver enzymes also went up. My MO told me to stop taking my cholesterol medication (Lipitor) and not take any Tylenol at all. Basically, avoid any kind of toxins that can cause the liver to work harder. If you're on any meds, discuss them with your MO to see if you should maybe hold off taking them for a while. There really isn't anything else my MO said could be done. The chemo is very hard on the liver. If the liver numbers get too high, they'll stop the chemo. Fortunately, you are almost done.

Also at towards the end of the Taxol treatments I developed some neuropathy in my hands and feet. To this day, I still have a bit of it in my feet. Sometimes it feels like there are marble under my toes or that there is something in my shoe. Very minor issues compared to what some others have experienced.

Hoping your numbers go down and you can complete your treatments.
