I had stage 1B DCIS August of 2016.. I had tram flap reconstruction right away after. This is the problem.. my left breast is a double D and right a C my left is tram flap and right has an implant my left foob feels very engorged and full. It hurts. My right gets sore. I’m having the left reduced and right Implant removed..honest, I don’t think anyone believes me that I hurt. My plastic surgeon says I shouldn’t reject my own tissue. I’m so confused. Anyone out there that has had this issue. I’m so frustrated

Hi RobinAnn! We're so sorry you're still having these issues so long after your procedure - the recovery can be difficult, and even more so for some people. It's also unfortunate that your doctors don't seem to be taking your pain seriously! If you search this forum, you'll come across posts from other members who've had trouble with their TRAM flap recoveries, and many who've had a difficult recovery with other procedures. Hopefully the reduction and implant removal will help, please keep us posted!

You may have lymphedema in your tram flap breast. Ask for a referral to a certified lymphedema therapist. If it is lymphedema, you can get some relief from massage and Manual lymph drainage.

Good luck. Hope you get some answers soon.

actually I did have lymphatic massage and therapy. And physical therapy. It still didn't take care of the breast pain and heaviness. I can't get a full body lymphodema pump. I do have one for my arm. Doesn't do much for my trunk. I'm wondering if something else is going on. Why so much pain. I will have a my implant taken out s as nd my left breast reduced. But no guarantee it will help. I'm at a loss for words here. I honestly don't know what to do. Surgery on December 23rd.
