This is a club I don’t want to be part of. It’s been a week, and I’m scared and sad. Just so sad. I want to go back to my life before this, which often seemed frustrating and way too busy and stressful. When sometimes I just wanted a break. But this is a different kind of stress. It’s a lonelier, sadder stress. I have a whole circle of people who love me more, it seems, than I ever knew. We’ve said things in the last week to each other that we’ve never said, and I wish we had. Before this. I’m so very lonely and sad.

    Hi KMom57,

I'm so sorry to hear of your diagnosis, but I'm glad that you and your loved ones are connecting better. It is never too late to make the connections and it is great to be able to focus on the good things that come along with the rotten luck of getting breast cancer.

You are only a week into it- don't worry, things will get better! You'll be going through all kinds of feelings and stress in this process, and for me, it was worst when I was first diagnosed and while waiting for surgery. Things are really great for me now! As soon as I have my exchange surgery, I feel like this will all be in the rear-view mirror. I'm expecting that this time next year, this year will feel like a weird dream or something.

I'm wishing you the best outcomes and relief of your stress!

Hi KMom57, and welcome to Breastcancer.org,

We're so very sorry to hear of your diagnosis, but we're really glad you've found us. As you can already see, our Community is an incredible place full of members always willing to offer advice, experience, and support -- we're all here for you! We know it can feel very lonely at the initial stages of diagnosis, but as OnTarget points out, it will get better with time, knowledge, and getting a plan in place for treatment. You are NOT alone here.

Sending you lots of positive vibes and we invite you to come back often, ask lots of questions, and get the support you need.
