I have scars but I don't often wear tops low enough to show them and I'm not particularly bothered by them.

newfromNY - ask for your Prolia shots in your hip or butt. The nurses are pretty good about it. I always have my flu shots there too. And when I need blood drawn, it's from my ankle.

I didnt get a port and I made it through okay AC DD x 4 then 3 Taxols (had allergic reaction to Taxol) then 3 Taxoteres. I get Zometa infusions via IV every six months for past 4 years. Yes my veins are smaller but so far I am still good to go.

I think it depends on who puts in your port. Mine is right in my neckline on the right side. If it had been farther to the right and under my bra line I wouldn't have cared. I didn't wear bras during chemo anyway. I wish I had put on my favorite tank top and traced it . some doctors are better at placement than others. Mine was a jerk

ExerciseGuru - agree, placement is important. I did trace the neckline I wanted & where my bra strap fell. My female BS was a dream & knew just what I meant.

But as these things go and to even everything out, my PS was a jerk.

VMB: I did not get a port.

I did AC + T chemo.....16 treatments in my vein

Herceptin: 10 treatments in my vein

Perjetta: 4 treatments in my vein

and now doing Kadclya for 14 treatments but I have 13 to go....yes I worry that eventually they won't find a vein but it has not been a problem....YET!

and I agree with all the treatment, surgery and radiation....I did not want another thing to do....just me though as I'm not wearisome when they go poking me for a vein...just my thoughts
