Does anyone have sore ribs after reconstruction

Hi, I had bilateral MX in April and tissue expanders removed and implants and fat injections in August. I have been complaining that my right rib hurts. I was sent for an X-ray to see if there was any mini fracture. The X-ray showed no fracture but demineralization of the bone. (i am assuming that is beginning stage of osteoporosis). In any event my rib hurts! I originally thought it was the TE digging in ? But it is still very sore.

Does anyone else feel this??

    Hi Lila,

    Did you have rads? Any tightness?

    I do have some tender spots on my ribs, not really worried about them. I mentioned to my PS at my last appt and he thinks it’s capsular contracture pulling on the surrounding tissues. it’s tight, but I’m not convinced it’s CC. It’s been tight all along, from TEs to now. Think it’s from rads.

    I’ve read some women here who got costochondritis (sp?) from rads that caused painful ribs also.

    My ribs are tender just below my breast. I don’t notice it often but if I bump it or press on it I notice. My RO explained to me that it is most likely effects on the musculature between the ribs due to radiation. He said it is usually more prominent in thin women but it should improve with time. I’m two years out from rads and while it is much better I still notice it from time to time. Hopefully, yours will diminish in time.

    My ribs are tender below my breasts as well. I'm convinced it's due to the stitching done for my subpectoral implants. Most of the time I don't even notice it now.
