Dignicap Tips and Tricks?

I will be utilizing my center's Dignicap scalp cooling machine and was wondering if anyone had any tips and tricks? I've read that the manual caps typically have more success than Paxman or Dignicap machines, but I can't put my husband through that! I will be starting the dd AC/T regime, so I know my odds are 50/50, but hoping and praying for the best outcome as I have very thick, dark black hair.

For those who have had success with Dignicap, do you have any tips or tricks on fitting the cap, keeping hair wet, etc? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thank you so much!!

    Hi vmb!

We're sure others will be by shortly with some practical, first-hand tips, but we wanted to share this BCO Podcast on All About Cold Caps which you may find insightful.

    We hope this helps!

I used Dignicap through all 16 of my treatments. I had short, think hair and I kept most of it through taxol. I think the majority of my shedding was caused by AC and not taxol but I continued to shed until about week 8. Week 4 however I started the most incredible regrowth. I lost most of my original hair but by the time I finished chemo I had enough regrowth to get a cute pixie haircut so it did preserve my hair follicles and I am 2 weeks PFC and have no shedding at all. I never wore a wig. I did wear hats to cover the areas I was losing on top. It is difficult but I feel happy that I have enough that I feel comfortable with not wearing head coverings so soon after chemo so it was worth it to me. There is a very good info site on facebook called "chemo cold cappers" that I would suggest you join to get tons of info. Good luck.
