What Does Enhancement Mean?

My MRI indicated enhancements around my tumors. My surgeon said I need to get another biopsy to decide the game plan for surgery. She said that it possibly indicates pre-cancerous cells around the tumor so they would need to get clear margins around that part. Of course, I'm worried it is something worse. Can anyone tell me their experiences with enhancements?

djmammo explained to me that enhancement in MRI is related to the blood flow in the area. This can indicate a malignant process but it can also indicate other conditions that are not malignant. If you have a copy of the MRI report you can post it to the post "interpreting your report". djmammo may be able to help you understand what the findings could mean, and get a better understanding of why specific steps are being taken.

Thanks. I'll have to call them and get a copy of the report. When I was done I just wanted to get the heck out of there and didn't even think about that.
