I just wanted to give an update to my journey, and hope it helps others. I am a 62 year woman who had a clear discharge from my left breast starting in March 2019. My 3D diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound both came back clear. My PCP referred me to a breast surgeon for evaluation, and she wanted me to get an MRI. The insurance company denied the MRI, but approved a ductogram, which could not be performed as discharge was sporadic. BS advised waiting 3 months, and trying again. Shortly thereafter the discharge turned bloody (dark brown) so insurance company approved an MRI that showed nothing. Last Thursday I had a duct excision that showed a benign intraductal papilloma. Thank God!

I hope this gives hope to everyone waiting for their results. I was so worried about my outcome due to my age, and a family history of breast cancer. I know I am one of the lucky ones, but I am sure there are many others who do not update their profiles when they get benign results. I pray for all of the women and men who are going through their journey now.
