Did a 4 mile walk with a friend and Labradoodle nephew in the local dog park prior to repairing to the brewpub for Alpha IPA and a delish burger. Was great catching up, and just wonderful to be catered to after a long and challenging week of work. The best is that we missed the rain which is bucketing down again. Very cool here, so suspect that we will have snow in the mountains as we start to rebuild snow pack.
Not to mention that I am where I need to be as my trip to London is in ten days.
Last time to buy summer veggies tomorrow. - Claire

one hour of Zumba class 😊 feel good!!!
-
Hey Karen1956, I just started Prolia myself but for osteoporosis, not to prevent bone mets. Cheering you on!
-
Wonderland the pumpkins are delightful.
Rode 10 miles today on the bicycle. A little slower bc there was a strong wind.
For the last 48 hours have been dealing with those painful leg cramps again. Started magnesium and hydrating with coconut water. So painful and so annoying!
-
Hi everyone, danced for probably an hour at my nephew's wedding tonight. That's the way to exercise!! 😘 Hopefully burned off the cake!
-
edj - the prolia is for osteoporosis but my oncologist says there is also a benefit to preventing bone mets - so double duty!!!
-
Ruth - are you getting any snow? Saw Monday is getting hit hard. 89 saw for this afternoon for a high - Tuesday it will be in the high 50s or low 60s.
Signing off the computer in about an hour till Tuesday night. Rosh Hashanah starts at candle lighting which is 6:30. It ends around 7:30 on Tuesday night.
-
karen1956, L'shanah tovah!
-
No snow, but it's been raining like crazy all day. I've been subbing for a teacher who went to Montana to visit an ill relative. She is supposed to be back Tuesday & I hope she doesn't get snowed in!
I have been doing a big project all weekend. I didn't have time at all to exercise yesterday. Today I went to yoga and spent some time on the treadmill.
-
Went on a 2.5 hour hike at Yorktown National Park on Saturday with a military historian who chronicled the American efforts against Cornwallis...unscripted, at our 4th main stopping site a bunch of redcoats came along...too good of a picture moment to pass up!
-
OMG, I am so very jealous, TrmTab!!!! That would so totally be my 'thing'!!!!!!!
Subbed today, Zumba & yoga for me tonight.
-
Reader425, dancing at weddings does count as exercise. TrmTab, how interesting and like that photo. Wonderland, your pumpkins are as marvellous this year as every year. Eigna, welcome to LPODE thread!
Spent the past weekend in Ireland with DH to visit his daughter and her family. We stayed in Dublin and was able to view the Book of Kells and Trinity College's iconic Old Library & Long Room. I threw a warrior 2 out in the old, 'musty book smelling' library, yet can't seem to get the photo off my phone-sigh. Anyway, wonderful visit as DH daughter is married to a farmer and their farm is outside Kilkenny, about 2 hours out from Dublin. Hit the ground running yesterday and same with today. Today, two Pilates classes and Yoga for Cancer. Hope we get the newbie who called me last week asking if he could come along..the uptake of this free class has been slow. Hey ho, let's keep at it!
-
Pound this morning, dog walking this afternoon, off to a meeting tonight.
-
Just did a half hour workout and cried the whole time. Thinking of my friendof 25+ years who hasend stage lung and brain cancer. Can’t believe I will out live him and he’s a few years younger than me.
-
I am so sorry, Mommy.
-
Really sorry, M0, that stinks.
-
Mommy so very sorry about your friend. I hope your tears continue to be cleansing.
-
Thank you all.
-
Oh gosh, M0mmy! I have lost my two closest friends to cancer. I am so very sorry.
I was able to sneak in a 4 mile run yesterday evening. Very busy finishing up work in preparation for my London trip. Can't believe that I am leaving in just one week. Last weekend, I restocked my travel bags so can just put in my suitcase.
Did a couple of rides over the weekend which were great fun..
This year, I have quite a bit more disposable income, so planning on leaving some of that in London! As I am continuing to work for the foreseeable future, I need more business casual clothes, and a lot more color. Even more casual wear as I discovered a nice draft in the left elbow of my favorite warm black cashmere turtleneck!
Back to work....the clock is ticking. - Claire

Thanks Claire

Here's the Walking Women up at the high school where we helped celebrate Homecoming (if walking around their track wearing school colors counts). We have SNOW showers predicted for later today!
-
Holy Cow!
-
M0mmy: Sorry to hear about your dear friend.
LB: Sounds like a wonderful trip to Ireland. Had to look up what a warrior 2 is. Now I know!
TT: That is so cool that the Redcoats showed up!
Claire: You're going to have so much fun shopping in London.
Unlike Ruth who may be playing in the snow, we were HOT. I mean 96 degrees hot. No outside exercise today for me.
-
Thank you Wonderland.

-
It's too cold here, but 97 in October sounds worse!
I went to Zumba and Yoga this morning & have been running around trying to get a bunch of things done since then. I'm finally sitting home and doing nothing. Whew!
-
Have been in the mountains this week - still warm - so I did 30 minutes of laps in the pool today. Tomorrow predicts a 20 degree temperature drop. If my anticipated migraine from that does not happen, hubby and I will likely hike.
-
Had my first Prolia shot this afternoon...wish me luck that I don't have side effects.
Gorgeous day today - should be nice till Thursday when it will drop from 77 on Wednesday to 47 on Thursday with a low in the 20s - snow is being mentioned - I'm sure the high country will get snow.
Have a good week-end.
-
Good luck with the shot, Karen!
I subbed today, did 30 minutes on the treadmill, and am trying to convince myself to do some toning.
*edited to add that I did a 45 minute Denise Austin toning DVD.
-
I have been quite lax in my exercise lately. I went back to work in Sept and we had two very rainy weekends in a row, so I feel like a slug. Yesterday I did get my lawn mowed which was quite a workout with all the rain we have had. It even started raining as I was finishing but i just kept going. Today it is sunny -finally-so I can catch up a little.
Mommy and Karen, I am sorry for the losses you have experienced.
Wonderland what kind of paint do you use to paint your pumpkins. I might try it!
