Diagnosed via mammogram & ultrasound. Ultrasound states 5 with several auxiliary nodes involved. Have biopsy on 23 Sep 2019. I found very painful lump in lower left breast approx 4 weeks ago.

Hi -- I know what you're going through --- had my first biopsy last December. It's sooo scary, but I will tell you that the biopsy doesn't hurt. It's pretty quick and basically painless. If you end up having cancer I think the hardest part for me was making the hard decisions - mastectomy vs lumpectomy etc. The doctors don't really help with that. They give you the facts and you're on you own with that decision most of the time. Now that my treatment is over and I look back it really wasn't that bad. I was lucky as I didn't need chemo.. This site will be a lifesaver for you. You'll have so many questions and everyone will help and give you their opinions and answers. I really don't know what I would have done without this group. Good luck and remember you will not be alone if you have to go through treatment.

Welcome APop. I'm sorry you're here. But glad because you'll find great advice and empathy here. These first few weeks are terrible. Really the absolute worst part of the ordeal because you don't know much and you don't have a plan of action yet. Spend time reading and getting up to speed. It'll help alot.

Diagnosed in BOTH breasts. From what they know at this point, just bad luck. Early stage double positive so apparently I'm lucky. Waiting on genetic testing to be completed and appointment for MRI. Waiting and waiting.

APopforBCinfo I go in for a PET scan a week from Tuesday. Found lump on left breast and a growing nodule on left lung. It looks like my mammogram did not pick it up, it was picked up by a ct scan for my right side pain. I know how nervous you must be, the waiting is the hard part. I pray they have found yours early and you do great. I see you are in MB, Iam just down the road from you! This board was so helpful when my sister was going thru stage 4 cancer. They will answer any question you have or will find out. Best wishes for you.
