Fatigue swings

Last week was my second to last week of rads and I started it feeling surprisingly good, barely any fatigue at all. Got through the week. By Friday afternoon I was tired, by Saturday I was as exhausted as I had been in chemo.

I'm a little bit better today (last week of rads) but the weekend was a nightmare.

Has anyone experienced this? I was cheered up when I was feeling good, like yay I'm not going to be incapacitated for much longer. Then I was crushed.

erin--I found that the days I had fatigue were typically after I'd had a really big day the day before. For me, at least, it had more to do with my activity level than how long I'd been in treatment.

I wonder. I didn't do anything really active during the week, just went to work. Which admittedly I hadn't been doing much lately.

Fatigue was awful for me, progressively worse as RADs wore on. Didn't matter if I rested all day or if got out and had a walk, etc. I don't think the fatigue lifted for me for 2 months or so afterwards. Granted I had severe SEs the entire time, lost most of the skin on my nipple, and developed Breast LE from my treatments. I think it's different for everyone but swings of fatigue sounds normalish to me. Rest when you can and try to move, walk, and stretch along the way. I found it helpful.

Thanks spoonie. I hope it doesn't take that long. I have four treatments to go and only just got some peeling. Aside from the fatigue it's been uneventful. Even that wasn't too bad until a few weeks ago. It was awful during chemo. And then of course you get mad about it because everyone says rads is easier. Well. I guess it was. Boy it's a long road.

Erin t. I am 6 weeks post op and have not had any other treatments and I am having the same labile energy issues. Will feel great one day and fatigued the next and doesn’t seem to be affected by activity level.

Thanks yogatyme, I'm sorry it's happening to you but at least we're not alone in it.
